If you’re in the market for a new concrete pump truck, you’ve come to the right place! To help you find the model best suited to your needs, we’ve written up the helpful buyer’s guide below. When you’re ready to start browsing for your new machinery, you can stop by any of our locations in Windsor, Aylesford, or Moncton, Nova Scotia to get started.

Pump Type

Different types of pumps are better suited to different jobs, so it’s important that you choose one that’s well-suited to your needs. For example, if you’re often reaching into high-up places, you’ll want to use a boom pump. These pumps use a mechanical arm to reach high upper levels and easily place down concrete. On the other hand, if you’re working on a site with obstacles that are difficult to maneuver around, a line pump is the better option. These pumps utilize hoses, rather than ramps or arms, to easily manuver around debris on ground levels.

Capacity

Different pumps will have different capacities, with some of the strongest options able to pour large amounts of concrete from very long distances. However, just because a concrete pump truck has some impressive capacity, doesn’t mean you should take advantage of it. These types of pumps may not be necessary for a majority of your jobs. Meaning you’ve paid quite a bit of money for extra capacity you’ll never use. Pumps that pour concrete extremely quickly will also require a larger workforce. If you don’t have the available manpower we advise going with a lower-capacity pump.

Financing

Heavy equipment like a concrete pump truck is far from affordable. While you’ll be making your investment back in no time, it’s very likely you’ll need to finance your purchase in order to afford it. Before you sign on the dotted line, be sure to set a monthly budget for your loan payments. We also suggest taking some time to get your finances in order, boosting your credit score, and saving up for a down payment.
