Ways to Use Your UTV for Farm Work

A UTV is a great machine for work, play, and everything in between. For example, if you work on a farm, you’ll benefit from owning a side-by-side. Below, we’ve compiled a list of ways you can use your UTV to accomplish some tasks around the farm. 1. Transport Supplies 

You need a way to transport farm supplies like hay, feed bags, fertilizer, tools, and other important cargo. A side-by-side can move all of these supplies and more. Each model offers plenty of space, and you can even attach a trailer to increase your hauling capacity.

2. Prepare Your Fields for Planting

Before you plant your crops, you need to prepare the soil. Fortunately, a UTV can help you with just that. Sometimes the soil is hard and firm. If you add a disc harrow or drag harrow attachment to your UTV, you’ll be able to break up the soil and smooth out its surface. 

3. Plant the Crops

If you add a spreader attachment to your side-by-side, you can quickly and evenly distribute the seeds in your garden or fields. You can also use this attachment to distribute fertilizer on your farm.

4. Feed Your Animals

Chances are you’ve got some animals living on your farm. When it’s time to feed them, pull out your UTV. Load up all of the feed so you can haul it to the animals. A side-by-side is more compact than a truck, so you can easily get in and out of your barn to unload the feed.

5. Reach Your Destination Faster

Your farm may span acres and acres. You need a way to get from one side of your property to the other. That’s where a UTV comes in. Use your rig to get places faster than you would by foot. If there are obstacles in your path, you can easily plow over them!

6. Fix Paths and Roads

Another way you can use your side-by-side on your farm is to clear paths and roads on your property. A front-mounted blade attachment can level dirt on even paths. A rake attachment can clear away debris like leaves, pine needles, brush, and more.
